The InterAcct Stock Control (Inventory Management) Sofware module is a database for recording details on “Stock” items – products and materials. The stock database may be used when preparing a Job Estimate, Quotations, Kit Costing, Sales Invoices, Bill of Materials – Manufacturing, and Purchasing.
Stock items may be a simple Product Price List or recorded for sales, purchases, issues to jobs, or for manufactured items. Stock Control is all about having an appropriate amount held in stock, knowing when to purchase, who is the best supplier, and maintaining profit margins.
Regardless of whether a product item is held as stock in a ‘warehouse’, the whole history of the item’s cost/price and movements is recorded as a by-product of the integrated InterAcct Accounting system. InterAcct deduces the amount of admin effort required to keep proper stock records.

Stock Control Software Features:

A product item can have a 20 character Id code (or greater), plus a Supplier Code, Bar Code. A detailed Stock Transaction ledger is maintained showing all historical movements (In & Out), the costs, prices, suppliers, and the customers.
The “Also Known As” feature allows an item to be linked to superseded, substitutes, or commonly known identifiers. There is an Aged Stock balance report, stock take report, suggested re-order report, and price lists.
One item has a default supplier, plus any number of Alternate Suppliers – each with their Last Cost information. Stock can be held in multiple ‘warehouse’ locations, on consignment, and on behalf of customers.
There is a free format area for notes & specifications. Within the main warehouse, there is the option of multiple bin locations per stock item.
A product item can have attached photo/CAD images. A stock item can be flagged as having Serial Numbers which are typically linked to Equipment Types, Makes, and Models.
You can define you own Buy & Sell units of measure. Batch number control with expiry dates is an option.
You can record an item’s weight and cubic measure (used when importing an item, and for Delivery Schedules). For Carpet sales, stock can be held by Roll number with colour dye batch control.
Profit margin control highlights where an item’s profit margin has slipped after cost increases. For timber items, stock can be held by length as sheets (M2) or linear lengths (LM).
One item can have multiple selling prices (some calculated automatically), plus Contract selling prices for a customer. For fashion items, stock can be held by Style, Colour, and Size.
A product item can be classified by a priority code for holding stock (eg “A” always in stock). Purchase Orders, Back Orders, Forward Orders, and Imported Shipments can be viewed by stock item.
A full stock holding reconciliation is maintained showing the balance in stock, available, and net balance. For manufactured items, there is a link to the Bill of Materials, and a “Where Used” enquiry for material components.
Stock re-order info is Min/Max quantities, or Forward Months Cover (FMC) - based on forecasted or historical sales. Flexible software design – add/remove fields, files, menus to suit, and then to create report designs to meet your exact requirements.
Sales/Profit analysis is maintained by month, by item. The movements of stock required for sales or jobs are tracked through to eventual despatch.
